Voigtlaender Nokton Classic Lens 40 mm / F1.4

The Voigtlaender Nokton Classic Lens 40 mm F1.4 is a popular lens among photographers. The lens is said to be sharp, and images produced are of high quality, even though the frame lines are for 35mm. The lens works well with the Leica m246. You can only shoot in manual focus and exposure modes, and the camera won't detect the make/model of the lens. The aperture ring moves in very clearly defined small clicks between 1.4 and 16. It is compatible with 43mm filters, and the hood attaches via a bayonet mount on the outside of the lens barrel. Although there were complaints about the delicate lens cap, the aperture ring is too easy to accidentally turn and the lack of edge sharpness when taking pictures of groups of people out of focus. The lens costs $500, and for its price, its tactile feedback, build quality and materials do not disappoint. It's a good lens, and four stars are logical for this product.
