When you buy it, you can get the sample from Home Depot, as stated by one of the customer reviews. The hose has a 1/2 inch inside diameter, and the outside diameter is roughly equal to 3/4 inches. It is not pre-punched and does not have any holes in it, as a customer who reviewed the product humorously stated, unless you have a mischievous neighbor who pokes holes just to annoy you. Regarding fittings, a Raindrip Hose End Plug with a Plastic Cap 1/2 " Tubing 1/2 " is a great fit, according to one of the reviews. You can also use a 1/2 " Figure 8 End Cap Plug or even tie a knot at the hose end to serve as an end cap fitting.
