- Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev (1818-1883): He became one of the well-known writers in Europe and in our country among the Russian classics of the 19th century with his works. Although he wrote many qualified stories and novels, from First Floods of Love and Spring to Smoke and Raw Land, the name Turgenev seems to be identified with the novel Fathers and Sons, published in 1862, in which he created the son Bazarov type, which became the symbol of nihilism. Ergin Altay (1937): From Yusuf Ziya Ortaç's first story translation (Zoshchenko) published in Akbaba magazine to the present day, he is one of the most important Russian translators of the last fifty years. As well as Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy, Gogol, Goncharov and Chekhov are among the writers that Altay has brought to our language with competence. Show more
