- COMBAT LEADER: CORE RULES contains all standard, advanced, and optional rules and game tables needed to play COMBAT LEADER, the World War II squad-level tactical infantry wargame published by Minden Games. These core rules cover German vs Russian squads, but also apply to all games, nationalities, and modules of the series. Scale: 1 hex = 17 yards; 1 counter = one soldier; 1 turn = 45-60 seconds; Scenarios usually pit one squad against one enemy squad. Soldiers are armed with a variety of historical weapons carried by his national army (rifles, machine pistols, machine guns), with squads operating under rules that cover national characteristics. (To take full advantage of the rules, you should own at least one Combat Leader game or game component set, available separately.) For newcomers to the system, enough sample game components (b&w maps, counters, scenarios) are provided within the book's pages to allow you to play two introductory scenarios immediately to see how the system works. Designed by Gary Graber, published by Minden Games.
